New Family

a Word of Life - story

A few months ago we had a new family begin joining us for our services.

This mid 30's couple were raised in a typical traditional Indian church where ritual and routine eclipsed relationship and experience, and dutiful traditional behaviors represent a form of religion that is often little more than a cultural identity rather than a conviction or belief.

As successful business people, their lives were well routinized , spreading their efforts between their business and young children. Then came a stirring, they recognized that God was not central in their lives and it convicted them greatly but they did not know what to do about it.

at that EXACT same time, a friend suggested that they might like to hear some good music (he is a musician) and recommended our Word of Life Program.

Not knowing that Word of Life was a full fledged church service they came and were thrilled to find exactly what they were looking for, a vibrant atmosphere, great relevant music, and a living spiritual climate that left them inspired and overjoyed.

We have met with them several times now to build relationship and encourage them in their new walk of faith. They have recently accepted the role of head ushers and he even played a special song in church a few weeks back that moved that whole service into a deeper level or worship.

They are now asking me about how to best evangelize to their non Christian friends, and soon they plan be baptized as an expression of their personal faith.

Word of Life has given these lifelong cultural Christians a place to grow, learn and thrive. We are so blessed to be a part of their spiritual awakening … they are a great addition to our church.
