Water Water EVERYWHERE

Heavy Monsoon Rains are upon us....
Our service this week was a near disaster, the roads all around us were filled with 10 to 12 inches of water and other questionable liquids, traffic was intensely bad as all traffic from flooded streets diverted them-selves to the already congested main arteries, it took me 3 hours to go 10 kms.
We arrives at the service just as it was supposed to begin. Our team also had huge trouble arriving, but somehow they made it (one guy got out of the car he was travelling in and ran about a km in the rain to get to the hall as soon as possible to get things set up)

we all wondered what kind of service we would have... preparing ourselves for the worst... BUT we have faithful people, there were 20 adults and 2 kids, 3 new people and we had a really great service, God was there and peoples lives were touched..
AND
Yesterday (Monday) was the Grand Diwali celebrations in India - it is the biggest festival of the year - fireworks and fire-crackers of all kinds have been blasting for the past few days, the city was a fog of gunpowder smoke. The NOISE was like a war zone, strips of 5 and 10 thousand crackers launch into a barrage of machine gun like bursts lasting for several minutes on end while all these really little kids run into the streets to ignite crackers of dubious quality as their parents watch from the sidelines. Today the streets are fully paved with the paper remains of these incendiary devices.

We had our first scheduled Prayer Meeting during this Mela of light and sound, and we made good ground. The meeting was well organized at one of our leaders houses and as a result we were able to pray thoroughly through our list of needs and prayer points that had been thoughtfully prepared in advance.

We are indeed Blessed with a competent team who are continually gelling together....
Today we will all go bowling together to celebrate a Birthday - I wonder what Indian Bowling will be like...
