I have been asked a lot lately about the Anti- Christian activity in India that is only now beginning to be magnified on the world stage
these are some of my thoughts - if you disagree, write your own blog...
India is a difficult nation - ever since the Thomas (doubting Thomas) was martyred here in our city 2000 years ago there has been a violent opposition to Christ... We ourselves are safer than most as our state has a Secular Government - many states have Hindu Activist governments , these are the places where Christians are most vulnerable as police and officials do nothing to protect the people, while mob's steel, kill and destroy.... nearby Orissa has been the worst hit in recent history, but India itself is riddled with terror, random street bombings and mob uprisings... I personally think it all is a manifestation of the spiritual battle for India - in the last 8 years India has begun a launch into globalization which has introduced all kinds of independence amongst the young people. the 90+% Hindu population is experiencing attrition from their youth as the pursuit of self and indulgence have drawn them away from thousands of years of tradition... the landscape has changed - Pizza Hut, KFC, and MacDonald's restaurants are sprouting everywhere - while the grip of tradition is slipping away faster than a government employee at 10 minutes to closing time. India's tradition of Hinduism is a drowning man, scrambling for air, grasping at those who would be there to help and climbing out of the water for a mere moment of life more while destroying those who represent the only real hope for salvation.. Christians in India feed, clothe, and educate the underprivileged and downcast, giving hope to the hopeless and dignity to all men. They do not require conversion or adherence to their faith, but those who are served simply want to serve others too.Meanwhile anti-conversion laws give privilege to those who are threatened by a lower caste rising out of their mire to react in the manor we saw in Orissa recently... any reason to blame the Christians, how dare they help people get jobs through education and dignity while the Hindus attempt to rely on the dying tradition of jobs through "caste right" and "who you know"... the current state of India is simply the reactions to an unavoidable modern age where all men are equal, ancestral rights are replaced with individual ability and a better life is available for the privileged and lesser alike It seems nothing more than the bratty reaction of a spoiled child no longer able to bully their world... the sandbox just got bigger, India is no longer it's own, it now belongs to the world...
